	BARLEY STRAW LOG A Barley Straw log, enclosed in netting, to help prevent algae and blanket weed in ponds. The decomposition of Barley Straw in the water uses up large quantities of nitrogen, and since algae and blanket weed lack roots or leaves, they require large amounts of nitrogen to live. Plant life with roots and leaves continue to thrive as normal. Float the Barley Straw log in the net, on the surface of your pond. It is most effective when tied just below the surface, near a source of moving water. An individual Barley Straw log will treat 1000 gallons/4500 litres and will last for 8-10 weeks.
